Razon's Spicy Palabok = Yummy, Halo-Halo = So So

Today, I am soo hungry. Why? I am on my way to the office for our APE (Annual Physical Exam) and and 8-10 hours fasting period is required before I undergo a series of blood tests. So while in the car, with a stomach soo hungry, I decided to browse my phone for some food pictures - in case that would help tame the growling stomach. :¦

A month ago, I was on a trip to the Hundred Islands and we passed by Tarlac to have some lunch. We came across the original Razon's restaurant. In my previous experiences with other Razon's branches, I was never satisfied wih the food quality and serving size. It seems that something is lacking from the inherited recipes.

Anyway, I then have ordered for a spicy palabok. Something I've never tried before.

I was surprised to find it delicious. Me being fond of spicy food was likely satisfied even though knowing that originally they are the same as that of the "normally flavored" palabok and you just add some chili sauce spices on top of it.

Since we have tasted the palabok to be above normal, we have hoped that their proudly made halo-halo would be the same.

With only some leche flan and about 3 more ingredients with crushed ice, it seems I ended up not being a fan still. For one reason is maybe because I was used to the colorful usual halo-halo that we eat with 6 to 12 colorful ingredients. At the back of their menu, I've read that the Halo-Halo was really intended to taste and look like that, simple. Maybe a lot of other people find it delicious but still for me it's just simply OK.

Here's a copy of their menu.

Oh, I forget to add, that specific branch's service was slow and bad. We have to wait for almost an hour for a single embutido meal to be served.
