It was my first day of office for 2011. It was running smoothly until I got some swelling on my right eyelids. Just right after lunch time I felt that my eyes got bitten because of some swelling. I disregarded it for sometime because it might be just some insect bite. Sadly that was not the case.
Just by the time I was able to face a mirror in the elevator I knew it was not a simple insect bite. This has happened before and I quite know where this is leading to, an Emergency Room of a Hospital.
I immediately made some phone calls and decided to rush to St. Lukes Global City (the nearest one from the office). Got on a cab, who unfortunately doesn't know how to go the The Fort (arggh, of all times), and with swollen eyes which can no longer see clearly I instructed him of the way. Got some face photos of myself during the swelling, but I dare not post it here to avoid readers say 'yuckie!!!' Hehehe
At the ER everything was fast, precise yet gently administered. Thanks to RN J-Pol and Dr. Romulo of the ER department for making me well enough to walk and go home. I got 2 IV injections and 1 muscular injection (which was very heavy on the arms). For the new year here is my souvenir by the end of the day:
Cotton balls to cover up my IV/injection holes. T_T |
