Dolls That Cherish Precious Moments

It has already been a month since my last post but it doesn't mean that my life became too boring for the past month that made it not worth posting. Actually, it has became too exciting and full of action, suspense and adventure. Sounds like a movie review, eh?

For the past month, I have been too engulfed with my travels, weekend oculars, food splurging, work (duh!) and island hopping. Yes, you read that right! I went island hopping to the Beach capital of the country, Boracay. It has been really a month full of extremes.

Anyway, I'll be posting about the trip sooner or later. I would first like to share a tiny yet very important souvenir that I got when I went to Kalibo, Aklan on our way to Boracay.

Just a short background, in New Washington Kalibo, Aklan there is a wonderful piece of land called the Sampaguita Gardens - the home of the Precious Moments owner Samuel Butcher. Precious Moments have been famous for the tear-shape eyed dolls that are so adorable! I had my first 15" PM doll from San Juan way back in 2003. I have been an avid fan of the dolls. I got 3 additional dolls from then on. So when I got the chance to visit my dream "paradise", I didn't forgot to buy a smaller version of the PM dolls. I actually bought 4 from the Kalibo gift shop, hehehe, talking about splurging.

This little girl is so special for me. Currently, she is placed on my office shelf at work. She's a daily reminder at work of how happy my chilhood is surrounded with smiling cute dolls like this one. I named her Summer - the time I bought her was summer time in the Philippines, her outfit seems to be summery and it's the first summer I'll be spending in Boracay.

I bought her for only Php198. Summer is a 4" Precious Moments Doll made by the Aklan natives of Sampaguita Gardens.
