A Simple Example of How Slow The Government Works

I have applied for an SSS ID way back on the 2nd week of May. I have queued for more than an hour back then just to have my picture taken in the only two booths that is functioning at that time. And almost after 2 months, I suddenly remembered, "Nasan na kaya yung SSS ID ko?" It was written in the form that I filled up that it would take them a minimum of 30 days. So it is definitely time to follow up now. I then tried calling their hotline # 920-6446. I was informed that the last processed ID requests were those filed back in October 2009. As in "Huh?", "Anong petsa na?". That's how the government works. Slow as in in literally slow. How I wish the government would improve.
